Yes, it’s that time of year again. The time of year where I dust off my bat and start breaking knee-caps if you don’t donate to CKXU and help keep my radio show on the air.
There are plenty of good reasons why you should donate, but here are just a few of my favorites:
1) CKXU is a non-profit volunteer run organization. There are only 3 paid staff (poorly paid at that) who help keep things running and everyone else (over 50, probably more) is a volunteer. That means we need your donations to help us upgrade equipment and keep everything running smooth.
2) CKXU is an independent media outlet. One of few in Lethbridge. We specialize in playing independent, “underground” (ie no top 40) tunes that you won’t hear anywhere else in lethbridge. If not for any other reason, you should be paying us out of gratitude for not playing the same Nickelback song ever 40 minutes.
3) I had something else really good but no I can’t remember it, so I’ll just reiterate that CKXU is 99.9999% volunteer run and some of our equipment is in disrepair. If you like what you hear on my show and want to keep it coming at a high quality, or if you want to receive it on the north side of lethbridge help us out and donate.
4) There are a ton of great incentives for varying levels of donations. Tons of sweet swag including the infamous CKXU FRIENDS CARD which will get you incredible discounts all over town.
5) I will break your kneecaps if you don’t.
